What does “vaulted” mean for a Funko Pop?
“Vaulted” is Funko's word for a Pop that's been retired from production. It's one of the most common terms in Funko collecting, and one of the most misunderstood.
What vaulted means
Funko describes its “From the Vault” section as the home of “rare vaulted Funko Pop figures and collectibles officially retired from production.” In practice, a vaulted Pop is one Funko has stopped making, so no new production runs are planned.
Can vaulted Pops come back?
Yes. Funko has brought Pops back out of the Vault before. In 2015, for example, Funko announced that the Tusken Raider and Jawa Pops had “returned” from the Vault. Funko noted that re-released Pops come in updated packaging, which is one way collectors tell an original from a later release.
How to check if a Pop is vaulted
- Funko's website: product pages can show a “Vaulted Product” label, and Funko has a From the Vault section.
- The Funko app: collectors report that it shows vaulted status for many Pops.
- Retail availability: if no official retailer stocks it any more, that's a hint, though not proof on its own.
Does vaulted mean valuable?
Not automatically. Vaulting stops new supply, but how sought-after a Pop is still depends on how many collectors want it. A re-release can also change things. If you want to see what sellers are asking for a specific Pop right now, you can look up its current eBay listings.
Vaulted isn't a sticker
Nothing on the box says “vaulted”. It's a status Funko shows on its website, not a sticker type. What the stickers on a Pop box mean.
